Orphan work blooming in Central Ukraine

We visited a new orphanage for us - for those visual handicaps in a near by town of Svetlavoldsk.

Above is Sasha, Olya and Ksusha getting ready to hand out some candy that was bought by Buddy Baker (An American) who helps these kids all the time.
Same girls as above, me and Max behind me at the home. Smile Max!
On our way home from Svetlavoldsk we stopped at this Kosak monument to take some fun pictures!
Later in the day, we went to a rehabilitian center that Buddy also helps out. It was a really touching place to be and see the great work that they are doing!

I had more pictures here, of the orphans, but then I remembered that we were asked by the orphanages, NOT to put pictures on the internet of them, because unscrupulous people use the pictures in a wrong way! Terrible, right?

Last week on Tuesday, Feb.20th, we visited the above places. Buddy Baker has been helping orphans and children in Ukraine for at least 6 years. There are 8 facilities that he serves in a 30 mile radius of Kremenchuk. Locally, the work is done through the Church of Christ that I attend. So we visited a couple of these homes with him. There are over 1400 kids in these 8 facilities. 6 years ago, none of them would let Bible be taught in them and now 6 are open to allowing the Bible to be taught because of the love and sharing that has been brought to them by this great brother and his work! We were already working with one of the orphanages and now will take part in teaching in a second one - the one in Svetlavoldsk. Our young people are very excited about having the opportunity to teach these kids and share with them the gospel of Christ! The 4 that are pictured above are just a few of our young people that love to teach others and I am sure we will have a very successful ministry here!

I'm really thankful and touched by the work that Buddy, you, and the youth are doing with the orphans. It's such a wonderful and Christ-like work! May God raise up more and more workers there in the harvest field!
